লোকক্রীড়া দেশীয়ভাবে উদ্ভূত এবং প্রধানত পলীর লোকদের নিজস্ব উদ্ভাবিত ক্রীড়া। শরীরচর্চা, চিত্তবিনোদন, অবসরযাপন ইত্যাদি কারণে লোকক্রীড়ার চর্চা বহু প্রাচীনকাল থেকেই হয়ে আসছে। কোনো কোনো ক্রীড়ায় প্রতিদ্বন্দ্বিতাও হয়। তবে লোকক্রীড়ার লক্ষ্য ও উদ্দেশ্য কেবল শরীরচর্চা, চিত্তবিনোদন ও অবসরযাপনের মধ্যেই সীমাবদ্ধ নয়, অনেক খেলার মধ্যে জাদু, যৌনতা, ধর্ম, সংস্কার ইত্যাদিও যুক্ত আছে। বাংলার লোকক্রীড়াকে স্থল, জল ও অন্তরীক্ষ এই তিন ভাগে ভাগ করা যায়। ভূমির ওপর সম্পন্ন যাবতীয় খেলা স্থলের খেলা; সাঁতার কাটা, নৌকা বাইচ ইত্যাদি জলের খেলা; আর ঘুড়ি ওড়ানো, কবুতর ওড়ানো ইত্যাদি অন্তরীক্ষের খেলা।
