World bicycle day celebrates this year in the lock downed planet of COVID 19 pandemic situation with lot of causalities !
COVID-19 has made the challenging last few months. However, we have loved seeing all the new faces to the bike riding community. With gyms and many sport facilities still closed, bike riding has enabled many people to keep active.
As the significant and active member of the global family in all respect Bangladesh also celebrate this fascinating day in lockdown environment where bicycle playing the more potential role in daily life and in the joy of rural childhood and spirit the competition of city youth . I made my portfolio by using the series of bicycle ridding photographs . at the same time let me to offer greetings of world bicycle day 2021 to people and planet by reveling time of my portfolio on 03 June 2021 bangladesh
The bicycle is a simple, affordable, reliable and environmentally friendly means of transportation that has been used for more than two centuries. Not only does it help people to lead a healthy lifestyle, it also promotes respect for the environment and has a positive impact on climate, which is fully compliant with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
The UN General Assembly inaugurated World Bicycle Day to promote the bicycle as a means of strengthening physical education, promoting mental and physical health and well-being, fostering sustainable development, and facilitating social inclusion. In its resolution, it encourages Member States to organize events and activities aimed to develop a culture of cycling in society and to improve road safety.
On June 3, bike enthusiasts across the world celebrate World Bicycle Day. On April 12, 2018, the United Nations General Assembly approved it is an official day of awareness and added World Bicycle Day to the list of the UN International Days.
The campaign to promote a UN resolution for World Bicycle Day was led by Leszek J. Sibilski. Dr. Sibilski is a sociologist and longtime advocate for issues related to family, youth, role of women in contemporary society, global poverty, climate change, the environment, and sport as a form of social inclusion. He is a former member of the Polish National Olympic Cycling Team, so there’s now wonder that it was Dr. Sibilski who decided to promote World Bicycle Day
