World Water Day Glacier Preservation

World Water Day, held on 22 March every year since 1993, is an annual United Nations Observance focusing on the importance of freshwater. 

World Water Day celebrates water and raises awareness of the 2.2 billion people living without access to safe water. It is about taking action to tackle the global water crisis. A core focus of World Water Day is to support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 6: water and sanitation for all by 2030. 

Every year, UN-Water — the UN’s coordination mechanism on water and sanitation — sets the theme for World Water Day. In 2023, the focus was on Accelerating Change. In 2024, on Leveraging Water for Peace. In 2025, the theme will be Glacier Preservation. Previous themes can be found here:

What’s next?

2025 will focus on glaciers, coinciding with the International Year of Glacier Preservation. 2026 will concentrate on water and sanitation’s role in gender equality. 2027 will explore the connection

Shorawaridi uddan in dhaka city of bangladesh is the pilgrime place of independent bangladesh where the great father of the nation Banga bandhu seikh mujibur rahman declared the independent bangladesh 7 march 1971 infront of myriad crowd of people by uttering the verse ” ebarer sangram amader muktir sangram .. ebarer sangram amader sadhinotar sangram ” and where the ‘ sikha chironton'” flaming eternally as the symbol of departed soul of great martyres of liberation war. a sadhinota stomvo ( independence stage engraving terra cotta of liberation history) built this place which is not cmpleted spending very helpless life by lacking of proper maintanence and nursing . stack of garbaze , disposed wasteges by unculturd visitors and un ethical offering of love are seen there . the beautiful lake of infront stage is polluted by people and animal bathing and washing the dirty clothes . its a big shame for us as the proud nation with sacrificed and glorious history of independence war .

the river tora of manikgonj district gradually going to die due to the global warming with climatic change and the man mades agressios like most of the rivers of bangladesh . the flowing river under tora bridge now die looking a narrow canal with vast sandy island . no big transport are travel here except some small boats , people are collecting sands from big dying portion of the river for selling it to the market though the setting sun of evening presenting its glory on the canal look remaining river, people and road transpots crossing over the river on the tora bridge. the returning movement of the working people through the dying sandy island of the river

people are living with various hazardous profession like skin dying , plastic and polythene recycling, making fish food with poisonous chemical westage of tannery at hajaribagh area on the bank of polluted and dying river buriganga. the wind of this area became polluted with dierty smell which is very ingurious for breathing .
